Kitchen Installation in Nottingham

  • Every trade under one roof - joiners, plumbers, electricians and Gas Safe engineers coordinated by the same team, not subcontracted out and lost track of
  • See the finished layout before you order a single cabinet, using CAD floor-planning that shows worktop, unit and finish choices in photo-realistic detail
  • Backed by a 5-year guarantee on labour and installation and a 2-year guarantee on products, set out in writing before work starts

Exactly What's Included When You Book a Full Installation

  • A CAD floor plan and full written specification covering every cabinet, worktop, appliance connection and finish, agreed and signed off before anything is ordered
  • Carpentry and cabinet installation, from flat-pack self-build ranges through to bespoke made-to-measure joinery built by City & Guilds trained cabinet makers
  • Worktop templating and fitting across laminate, granite, high-character Italian marble, quartz and ultra-tough sintered surfaces such as Corian and Dekton
  • Plumbing connections for sinks, taps, dishwashers, washing machines and other integrated appliances, carried out by NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds certified plumbers
  • Electrical wiring for sockets, task lighting, extractor circuits and appliance connections, completed by Part P approved installers with full safety certification
  • Gas connection and commissioning for hobs and cooking ranges, handled only by Gas Safe registered engineers
  • Tiling and plastering to make good around the new units, drawing on four decades of on-site plastering experience
  • Removal of the old kitchen - units, worktops, tiling and appliances - and disposal under our registered waste carrier licence
  • A final snagging walk-round, full clean-down and formal sign-off with a written installation warranty

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Structural work - taking out a load-bearing wall or fitting an RSJ for an open-plan knock-through - isn't part of a standard installation quote. It needs a structural engineer's calculations first and gets priced and scheduled as its own piece of work, usually with building control sign-off
  • Appliances aren't included in the price unless you've specifically asked us to supply them. We're happy to fit units you've bought elsewhere, including flat-pack ranges from the big retailers, but check compatibility and delivery timing with us before you order
  • Asbestos, if it turns up during strip-out in an older Nottingham property (common in pre-1980s ceiling tiles, floor tiles or old boiler flues), has to be tested and removed by a licensed specialist before we can carry on - no kitchen fitter should be disturbing that themselves
  • Damp or subsidence found once the old units come off the wall sits outside the original quote. We'll flag it straight away and get you a separate price rather than plastering over a problem that needs sorting properly first
  • Ongoing appliance servicing after handover isn't part of the installation - that's down to the manufacturer's own warranty and aftercare

What Happens Once You Book a Full Installation

  1. Home visit and design -- We measure the room properly, including the parts that catch people out - chimney breasts, sloped ceilings, uneven period floors - and talk through how you actually use the kitchen day to day before any layout gets drawn.
  2. Fixed quote and a real schedule -- You get a CAD layout to review and change before committing, then a full written quotation and a proposed timetable showing which trade is on site on which day, so you know roughly what the next few weeks look like before you sign anything.
  3. Delivery and the strip-out -- Units and materials are delivered and checked in, floors and access routes get protected, and the old kitchen comes out - cabinets, worktops, tiling, appliances - with anything hidden behind them, such as old wiring, damp or asbestos-containing material in older properties, flagged before it's built over rather than after.
  4. Units, worktops and the trades that connect them -- New cabinets go in and get properly levelled, worktops are laser-templated on site for an exact fit, and plumbers, electricians and, where there's a gas hob, a Gas Safe engineer make their connections in the order the job needs, not whoever happens to be free that day.
  5. Tiling, plastering and your final walk-round -- Tiling and plastering finish off around the new units, we walk the kitchen with you to pick up any snagging on the spot, and you get a formal sign-off with your written installation warranty before we leave.

What Kitchen Installation Costs in Nottingham

Kitchen installation pricing splits fairly cleanly into two categories. Labour-only fitting, where you've bought the units and materials and just need a fitter, typically runs from around £1,700 to £3,000 depending on kitchen size and complexity - skilled fitters generally charge somewhere between £200 and £300 a day, and a straightforward galley kitchen takes fewer days than a large L-shaped or open-plan one. Full supply and installation, where design, units, worktops and every trade are included, more commonly runs from around £6,000 up to £15,000 or more, with larger or higher-spec projects - stone worktops, bespoke joinery, structural changes - landing anywhere from £8,000 to £25,000. Our own kitchens start from around £5,000 for a full supply and install, with flexible finance available through an FCA-regulated partner, subject to status, if you'd rather spread the cost. Worth knowing too: pricing tends to run 15-35% higher in London and the South East than it does up here in the East Midlands, so a Nottingham quote should generally undercut a comparable job priced down south. None of these figures replace an actual quote, though - the only way to get an honest number for your kitchen is a free home visit, because layout, existing plumbing and electrics, wall condition and finish choices all move the price in either direction.

How We Compare to Other Ways of Getting a Kitchen Fitted

Who you deal with The same people designing, quoting and fitting your kitchen Whoever you've individually hired for each job A sales advisor, then a separate fitting crew you haven't met
Guarantee 5 years on labour and installation, 2 years on products, in writing Down to the individual tradesperson, if offered at all Varies by branch, often product-only
Typical starting price From around £5,000 for a full design, supply and install Labour only, roughly £1,700-£3,000 plus your own materials Often comparable or higher once showroom overheads are factored in

Why a Full Installation Is Worth Trusting to One Team

A full kitchen installation is the biggest job we do, because it's the one where every trade has to turn up on the same site, in the right order, without anyone waiting around on anyone else - and that coordination is the part that goes wrong when a job gets pieced together trade by trade. We're a family-run business, not a national chain with a sales target, and after over 20 years and 800+ kitchens across Nottingham and the East Midlands, the running order for a full install - who needs to be on site, and when - is something we've refined on real jobs, not planned out on paper. Because it's one project under one agreement, you get a single written quotation covering design, cabinetry, plumbing, electrics, gas and finishing trades together, rather than stitching together separate quotes and separate guarantees from a joiner, a plumber and a plasterer you've booked individually. That single agreement carries a 5-year guarantee on labour and installation and 2 years on products, and every trade that touches the job is qualified specifically for it - carpentry by City & Guilds trained cabinet makers, plumbing by NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds certified professionals, electrics by Part P approved installers who issue full safety certification, and any gas hob connection by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We're also members of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Federation of Small Businesses, which matters more on a multi-trade job like this than on a smaller one, because it's a statement about how the trade side of the business is run, not just the sales side.

Where We Fit Kitchens Around Nottingham and the East Midlands

Nottingham is where most of our installation work happens, and the city throws up more variety than people expect - Lace Market conversions where an industrial-chic look with exposed brick and matte-black hardware suits the building, and properties near Nottingham Castle and the sandstone caves where uneven period floors and old foundations mean extra care with levelling before a single unit goes in. Out toward Wollaton, the classic architecture around Wollaton Hall and its deer park tends to suit more traditional Shaker-style cabinetry over anything ultra-modern, while West Bridgford and the streets either side of Trent Bridge and the River Trent are straightforward for logistics - easy delivery access for units and stone worktops heading out to Wilford and Colwick too. We also cover Beeston, Arnold and Sneinton regularly, and the Nottingham Express Transit tram corridor running through Beeston and Clifton toward Hucknall and Phoenix Park gives our installation teams a fairly direct run across that side of the city. Beyond Nottingham itself, we're regularly out to Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Stapleford in Nottinghamshire, and across into Derbyshire for Derby, Long Eaton, Alfreton and Heanor - working from a dedicated regional workshop, our core radius runs roughly 15-20 miles and stretches out toward Chesterfield and the Derbyshire border for the right project. For larger installations we'll also travel further afield into South and West Yorkshire, including Sheffield, Wakefield and York - worth a quick call first to confirm scheduling and any travel allowance for a job that far out.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does kitchen installation cost in Nottingham?

Labour-only fitting typically runs from around £1,700 to £3,000, while full design, supply and installation more commonly falls between £6,000 and £15,000, with larger or higher-spec projects reaching £8,000-£25,000. Our own kitchens start from around £5,000 with finance available if you'd rather spread the cost. A firm number always needs a free home visit, because layout, existing plumbing, wall condition and your finish choices all move the price.

How long does a full kitchen installation take?

A straightforward galley or single-run kitchen with no structural changes can be done in around one to two weeks. Larger L-shaped or open-plan kitchens, or any job involving stone worktops (which need laser templating and a curing period), plastering, and full retiling, more typically run two to four weeks from strip-out to sign-off. We'll give you a realistic timeline as part of your written quotation, not an optimistic best-case one.

What's included in a kitchen installation service?

Design and CAD floor planning, strip-out of the old kitchen, carpentry and cabinet fitting, worktop templating and installation, plumbing, electrical first and second fix, gas connection where needed, tiling, plastering, and a final snagging walk-through with written warranty. Appliances themselves are only included if you've asked us to supply them - see the scope section above for the full breakdown of what's in and what isn't.

Do I need to move out during a kitchen installation?

Most households don't move out, but you should expect the kitchen itself to be unusable for most of the job, particularly during strip-out, first-fix plumbing and electrics, and worktop fitting. Water and sometimes power to the kitchen circuit get isolated at points during the work. If you rely on cooking facilities daily, it's worth planning around a temporary setup - a kettle, microwave and camping-style hob in another room - for the middle stretch of the project.

Can you install a kitchen I've bought elsewhere, like IKEA?

Yes, we regularly fit kitchens supplied by other retailers, including flat-pack ranges. It's worth talking to us before you order, though, because carcass sizes, worktop compatibility and delivery scheduling vary between suppliers, and getting that wrong before the units arrive is a lot cheaper to fix than after.

Are electrics and plumbing included in your kitchen installation service, or do I need to arrange those separately?

They're included as standard. Plumbing is handled by NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds certified plumbers, electrical work by Part P approved installers who issue full safety certification, and gas hob or range connections by Gas Safe registered engineers. You don't need to source or coordinate any of these trades yourself - that's the point of using one team rather than piecing a job together.

What happens if asbestos or damp turns up mid-project in an older Nottingham property?

We stop work on that section immediately rather than covering it over. Asbestos, which does still turn up in pre-1980s ceiling tiles, old flooring adhesive or boiler flues, has to be tested and removed by a licensed specialist before we continue - it's not something a kitchen fitter should handle directly. Damp or structural issues found once old units come off the wall get flagged straight away and priced separately, so you're making an informed decision rather than getting a surprise bill after the fact.

Can kitchen installation be scheduled around a working-from-home household to minimise disruption?

Yes, this comes up often enough that we plan for it. We'll agree working hours with you upfront, and can sequence noisier work - strip-out, tiling, drilling for cabinet fixings - around calls or meetings where possible. It won't be silent (there's no version of fitting a kitchen that is), but a bit of notice on your schedule lets us plan around the loudest stages rather than dropping them in at random.

Can you install a kitchen island as part of the job?

Yes, and it's one of the more involved parts of a design to get right, because an island usually needs its own plumbing and electrical runs brought out from the existing services, plus floor structure checked if it's carrying a heavy stone worktop. We'll factor this into the CAD floor plan and the quote from the start rather than treating it as an add-on partway through.
