Zola is the range we point people toward when they want a kitchen that reads as current without going fully handleless - it keeps a visible, simple door profile rather than the flush, minimal edge you'd get with something like our Aldana range. Which one actually suits your kitchen is easier to judge from real door samples held against your own walls and light than from a photo online, and that's what the free home design visit is for.

That visit comes with a full written quotation, not a figure guessed over the phone, and it's how every Zola installation we take on starts - whether that's in Nottingham itself or further out into Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. We design, supply and fit as one family-run team, and in more than 20 years doing that we've fitted Zola and our other ranges into everything from Victorian terraces in the Lace Market, where a run of units might need scribing around walls that are decades off square, to newer apartments where a galley layout has to work around a fixed door swing.

Everything a Zola Installation Covers, Trade by Trade

  • Free home design visit and a CAD floor-plan showing your own room in the Zola cabinet style
  • Made-to-measure Zola cabinetry built and fitted by City & Guilds trained carpenters and cabinet makers
  • Choice of worktop to pair with Zola doors - laminate through to granite, quartz, marble or sintered stone such as Dekton, laser-templated and cut in-house
  • Plumbing for sinks, taps and integrated appliances carried out by NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds certified plumbers
  • Electrical work for sockets, under-cabinet lighting and new circuits by Part P approved electricians, with full safety certification
  • Gas Safe registered engineers to disconnect, move and recommission a gas hob or range cooker
  • Plastering and making good around removed units, extractor ducting and new tiling lines
  • Removal and disposal of your old kitchen under our registered waste carrier licence
  • A written agreement before work starts and a formal sign-off with installation warranty at the end

Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Structural work such as removing a supporting wall - that needs a structural engineer's sign-off, which we don't provide ourselves
  • Major appliances aren't included in the base quote unless you've asked us to supply and fit them as part of the package
  • Flooring beyond the kitchen's own footprint, or work in other rooms of the house
  • Listed building or conservation area consent, where your property needs it - that's your application, though we'll work to whatever it approves
  • Moving the kitchen's gas or mains water supply pipework any real distance, which usually costs more than a straightforward reconnection

From Measure-Up to Handover: How a Zola Fit Actually Runs

  1. Tell us about the room, not just the range -- A quick call or message covering your kitchen's rough dimensions, which appliances need to stay or go, and any structural question marks - a wall that might come out, a boiler that needs moving. That detail decides whether the first home visit is a straightforward measure-up or one that also needs to factor in extra trades from the start.
  2. A designer measures up and brings the range with them -- Someone comes to your house rather than sending you to a showroom, measures the room properly, and brings Zola door and worktop samples so you're looking at the actual finish in your own light. Plumbing, electrical and gas positions get checked at this point too, because moving a sink or hob is priced differently to keeping it where it is.
  3. You see the plan before you agree to anything -- A photo-realistic CAD floor plan is built around your actual room, alongside a written quotation that itemises every trade and material rather than a single lump sum. There's no pressure to sign on the visit itself - you're free to take it away and think it over.
  4. Strip-out and first fix happen before a single cabinet goes up -- Once you've signed off, your Zola cabinets and any made-to-order doors get ordered while the old kitchen comes out for registered waste disposal. Plumbing and electrical first fix goes in behind the walls next, so sockets and pipework land where the new layout needs them rather than where the old units happened to be.
  5. Worktop, finishing trades, and a walkthrough handover -- Once cabinets are hung, the worktop gets laser-templated, then cut and fitted - usually the last major physical change to the room. Plastering, tiling and decorating finish everything off, and we walk through the completed kitchen with you before handing over a written installation warranty.

The Real Cost Drivers Behind a Zola Kitchen

Kitchens through us start from around £5,000, and a Zola kitchen sits within that range depending on size and specification - but that figure covers a modest galley kitchen with a straightforward laminate worktop, not a like-for-like guide to every job. The things that move the price are the same for Zola as for any of our ranges: how many linear metres of cabinetry you need, whether doors are in-stock or made-to-order (non-standard colours and sizes cost more and take longer), what worktop you pair it with (laminate is the budget end, with granite, quartz, marble and sintered surfaces like Dekton costing progressively more per metre once laser templating and stonemason fitting are factored in), and how much plumbing, electrical and gas work is involved in moving appliances rather than keeping them where they are.

We offer flexible finance through an FCA-regulated partner, subject to status, if you'd rather spread the cost. What we won't do is give you a number over the phone and hold you to it - a proper quote needs someone in your kitchen with a tape measure, because two rooms of the same square footage can price very differently depending on wall condition, existing pipework and how much of the old kitchen needs stripping out first. The free home visit is where that number gets pinned down in writing, and there's no obligation to go ahead once you've seen it.

Full Replacement, Partial Update or Respray: Sizing Up Your Options

Option What changes Typical starting point Best fit if...
Full Zola kitchen (cabinets, worktop, fitting) Every cabinet, door and worktop replaced and refitted From around £5,000 Your current layout or units are worn out, the wrong size, or you want a genuinely different room
Zola cabinets, existing worktop kept New Zola carcasses and doors fitted, current worktop retained and refitted Lower than a full replacement, confirmed at the design visit Your worktop is stone, in good condition, and doesn't need re-templating
New stone worktop only Granite, quartz, marble or Dekton, laser-templated to your existing units Priced by area and material at the visit You like your current kitchen's shape but the worktop is tired, chipped or the wrong material
Respray refresh Existing timber or laminate doors and frames resprayed to a factory-grade finish Priced per door or run at the visit Your carcasses and layout are structurally sound and you want a colour change without a full rebuild

Cabinetry Built by People Who Answer to You, Not a Head Office

Zola cabinets are built and hung by City & Guilds trained carpenters and cabinet makers, working from the same CAD floor plan your designer drew up with you rather than a generic factory spec. Because we design, supply and fit in-house, the person who shows you door samples at the free visit is accountable for how straight those doors hang three months later - there's no separate joinery subcontractor to chase up if something needs adjusting.

Everything else a Zola fit touches goes through the same joined-up setup: sinks, taps and integrated appliances by NVQ Level 2 and City & Guilds certified plumbers, sockets and lighting by Part P approved electricians with full safety certification, a gas hob disconnected and recommissioned by Gas Safe registered engineers, and plastering backed by four decades of on-site experience for the walls a strip-out always disturbs. It's the reason a Zola installation runs as one continuous job rather than a relay race between tradespeople who've never met.

That kind of coordination comes from being family-run rather than a franchise counter - the same people have been designing and fitting kitchens across Nottingham and the wider East Midlands for over 20 years, with more than 800 completed for local households, several of them the kind of Lace Market terrace where no wall in the kitchen is actually square. We're proud members of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Federation of Small Businesses, every finished kitchen gets a formal sign-off, and cabinetry work carries the same 5-year guarantee on labour and installation, and 2-year guarantee on products, as everything else we fit.

Zola Installs From the Lace Market to the Derbyshire Border

Nottingham is home turf - we work out of a dedicated regional workshop and most weeks have a Zola kitchen going in somewhere between the city centre and the surrounding suburbs. In Wollaton, that often means designing around the kind of classic-meets-contemporary look that suits the area near Wollaton Hall; in West Bridgford and along the river toward Trent Bridge, delivery access needs more planning if you're on a terraced street with no drive. Beeston and the stretch of the city served by the NET tram line see a steady run of installs too, and older properties in Sneinton and the Lace Market sometimes come with the sloping floors and uneven walls you'd expect from housing stock this close to the Castle and the sandstone caves underneath the city - Zola's cabinets get scribed and packed out to match rather than assuming every wall is square.

Further out, we cover Arnold and the rest of Greater Nottingham, then into Nottinghamshire towns including Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Stapleford, and across into Derbyshire for Derby, Long Eaton, Alfreton and Heanor. Chesterfield sits close to the edge of our usual 15-20 mile working radius. Wakefield, Sheffield and York are further out again - we do take on jobs that way, but scheduling a design visit and site fit needs a bit more notice than a job five miles from the workshop, so it's worth flagging your location when you first get in touch.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

What style is the Zola kitchen range - modern or traditional?

Zola sits toward the contemporary end of our collection, but “style” really comes down to the door profile, colour and handle choice you pick, and those get shown to you properly at the design visit rather than guessed at over the phone. If you've seen a photo of a Zola kitchen somewhere and want that exact look, bring it along - we can tell you straight away whether it's achievable with the doors and finishes currently available.

What colours does the Zola range come in?

Colour and finish options change as door suppliers update their ranges, so rather than quote you a list that might be a year out of date, we'll show you current samples and swatches at your free home visit. If you already have a colour in mind - a specific Little Greene or Farrow & Ball shade, for example - tell us early, because matching an exact paint colour on cabinetry sometimes points us toward a respray finish rather than a factory door in that shade.

How much does a Zola kitchen typically cost fitted?

Our kitchens start from around £5,000, and a Zola kitchen of typical size with a mid-range worktop usually sits above that starting point once plumbing, electrics and a decent worktop material are added in. The only way to get a number you can rely on is the free home visit, because cabinetry length, worktop choice and how much of your existing plumbing and wiring can be reused move the figure more than the door style does.

Can the Zola range be adapted to a small kitchen layout?

Generally yes - cabinet carcasses can be built to non-standard widths and depths, which matters more in a small or awkward-shaped room than a large open-plan one. We've fitted this kind of layout into plenty of terraced galley kitchens across the Lace Market and similar areas, where the real challenge is usually fitting full-size appliances and enough worktop run into a room that wasn't designed with a dishwasher in mind.

What worktop options pair well with the Zola range?

Any of them, technically - laminate, granite, quartz, high-character marble or a sintered surface like Dekton or Corian all get laser-templated and cut in-house to fit your cabinets. Which one actually suits Zola comes down to your budget and the look you're after: quartz and Dekton are the low-maintenance choice for a busy kitchen, while marble and granite lean into a more traditional or higher-end feel.

Are Zola range doors available in a handleless finish?

Handleless is part of our contemporary collection generally, and it's worth asking about specifically for Zola at the quote stage, since exact door and profile options are shown to you at the home visit rather than fixed in a brochure. If a handleless look matters to you, mention it when you first get in touch so the designer brings the right samples.

What's the lead time difference between in-stock and made-to-order Zola units?

In-stock cabinet lines and standard doors move a lot faster through the process than made-to-order ones - non-standard colours, sizes or handleless profiles typically add real weeks onto the schedule because they're built to your order rather than pulled off a shelf. We'll give you an honest lead time for your specific spec at the quote stage, and that date is what your strip-out gets booked around, not the other way round.

If I already have a Zola-style kitchen from another fitter, can you just extend it with matching units rather than replacing everything?

Sometimes, but we'd rather be straight with you than promise a perfect match sight unseen. Door colours and profiles vary between manufacturers and even between production batches, so “Zola” from one fitter isn't guaranteed to be identical to Zola through us. Send us photos or, better, let us come and look in person - we'll tell you honestly whether new units will match closely enough to sit alongside your existing ones, or whether you'd be better off treating it as a fresh design.

Honestly, who is the Zola range best suited to versus your other ranges?

Zola tends to suit people who want a tidy, contemporary kitchen without wanting to push into a fully handleless, high-gloss look - it's a middle-ground choice rather than the most traditional or the most minimal thing we fit. If you're after heavy period detailing, a Shaker-style range with visible frames might suit you better; if you want the most stripped-back, handle-free finish possible, that's worth a separate conversation too. The honest answer is that the best way to know if Zola is right for your kitchen is to see actual samples against your own walls and light, which is exactly what the free design visit is for.

Get Your Zola Design Visit on the Calendar

Made-to-order doors and stone worktops both carry their own lead times, so the earlier your free design visit and written quote are booked in, the more say you have over your actual install date rather than fitting around whatever slot is left. There's no cost and no obligation to go ahead once you've seen the numbers - get in touch and we'll get a designer out to measure up your kitchen and talk you through the Zola range properly.
