What's Included in a Custom Wooden Feature Commission
- Solid wood island or breakfast bar tops, including waterfall edges that run down the side
- Open shelving, with brackets left visible or hidden depending on the look you want
- Decorative panels, beading and V-groove trim
- Wooden cooker hood surrounds
- Custom corbels and mouldings under shelves or above cabinets
- Bespoke cabinets and drawers built to fit awkward spaces
- A free first visit with wood samples and hand-drawn sketches, followed by fitting from the same joiners who made the piece

Not Included / Costed Separately
- A full new fitted kitchen or complete carcass replacement -- that's a separate design-and-install project, not a wood feature commission
- Stone or engineered worktops such as granite, quartz or Dekton, which our stonemasons template and fit separately
- Spray-painting or respraying existing cabinets to freshen up their finish -- a dedicated service in its own right
- Structural work such as removing a wall, which needs building regulations sign-off before any joinery can start
- Plumbing, gas or electrical work needed to integrate a feature around appliances, handled by our certified trades as part of a wider kitchen project
- Very large pieces such as a single-slab island top may need transport planned around access, which we cost separately at the home visit

Trade Skills You Can Check, Not Just Take Our Word For
We're a family-run business, trading for over 20 years and behind more than 800 completed kitchens across Nottingham and the wider East Midlands -- so a wooden feature commission is one part of a trade we've done for two decades, not a sideline. The joinery and cabinet making is done by City & Guilds trained master craftsmen, and every project starts with a written agreement setting out the price and scope before any wood is cut, so there's nothing sprung on you later. We're members of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Federation of Small Businesses, and everything we fit carries a 5-year guarantee on labour and installation. You're also not dealing with a call centre -- the person who visits your kitchen, sketches the design and picks the timber with you is the same person who'll be in the workshop making it.

Where We Make and Fit Wooden Features
Every feature is built in our Nottingham workshop before we deliver and fit it on site, so the same team handles a job whether it's in West Bridgford or out towards Derby and Long Eaton. Alongside Nottingham itself, we regularly work across the wider county and into Derbyshire, roughly a 15-20 mile radius from the workshop, taking in Chesterfield and Mansfield. Older properties around the Lace Market and The Park often call for wood that nods to the original mill and Victorian joinery still in the building, while newer estates out towards Arnold and Beeston tend to want cleaner, simpler lines -- either way, the same joiners measure, make and fit the piece.
