Kitchen Door Wrapping Nottingham
£35 • Doors removed one • 5-Year Guarantee
0115-824-4201
Tired kitchen doors are one of the few problems in a house you can fix without emptying the room. Vinyl wrapping keeps your existing cabinets and carcasses exactly where they are and simply changes the surface you look at every morning, which is why it has become one of the more popular jobs handled by Nottingham Kitchen Fitter outside of full kitchen installs.
If your doors are sound but the finish has had it - chipped paint, dated laminate, or a colour you are simply bored of - wrapping is worth pricing up before you commit to full door replacement or a new kitchen.
What's Included in a Door-Wrapping Job
- Removal of existing cabinet doors and drawer fronts
- Vinyl wrapping carried out under heat and pressure in our workshop, not on-site
- Refitting of the same doors, hinges and handles once wrapped
- Colour and finish matched to your existing kitchen or a full change of look
- 10-year guarantee on vinyl adhesion, 2-year guarantee on workmanship
Not Included / Costed Separately
- Doors with swollen chipboard, water damage or splitting - these need replacing, not wrapping
- Structural repairs to carcasses, hinges or drawer runners (quoted separately if needed)
- New door styles or shapes - wrapping changes the finish, not the door itself
- Worktops, splashbacks or appliances - a separate job if you want those refreshed too

How a Door Wrap Actually Runs, Start to Finish
- Free quote -- We look at your doors (in person or from photos) and give you a fixed £35-45 per door price before anything is booked in.
- Doors come off -- On the agreed day, doors, drawer fronts, hinges and handles are removed and labelled so everything goes back exactly where it came from.
- Wrapped in the workshop -- Doors are taken to our workshop and vinyl-wrapped under proper heat and pressure, including routed grooves and curved handle edges - not something that can be done well on your kitchen floor.
- Quality check and refit -- Once wrapped, doors are checked for adhesion and finish before going back on, refitted by the same person who took them down.
- Sign-off -- You check the finished doors before we leave, and the 10-year vinyl and 2-year workmanship guarantees apply from that point.
What Door Wrapping Costs
Door wrapping runs £35-45 per door, so a typical 12-15 door kitchen lands around £650-900 depending on door count and how many drawer fronts are included. That's set against £80-150+ per door for new doors alone before fitting, or upwards of £5,000 for a full design, supply and install kitchen refit. The exact figure depends on how many doors need wrapping, their size and any curved or heavily routed edges, so a firm price needs us to see the doors - either in person or from clear photos - rather than a phone estimate.

What Backs Up Every Door-Wrapping Job We Do
A wrapped door lives or dies on how cleanly the vinyl is worked into a routed shaker groove or a curved handle edge, and that's a skill our joiners have built up wrapping doors alongside 800+ full kitchen builds, not one bolted on to make a quick extra sale. Doors come off in your kitchen, get wrapped under proper heat and pressure conditions back in our own workshop, and go back on by the same person who took them down, so there's no substitute material sneaking in partway through the job. What you're actually buying is a joiner's eye applied to a finishing job: someone who can tell you before the van leaves whether a door edge is too chipped or swollen to wrap cleanly and needs replacing outright, rather than wrapping over a problem and letting you find it out in six months.
You're quoted a fixed £35-45 per door before anything comes off its hinges, backed by our CITB and FSB membership, and that figure doesn't move once the work starts - there's no call centre chasing you for extras once the vinyl is on.
Where We Collect and Refit Wrapped Doors
Door collection and refitting run on the same round as our regular kitchen fitting work: Nottingham city itself, out to West Bridgford, Wollaton, Beeston, Arnold and Sneinton, then into Nottinghamshire towns such as Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Stapleford. From there the workshop reaches into Derbyshire as far as Derby, Long Eaton, Alfreton and Heanor, with Chesterfield sitting towards the outer edge of our roughly 15-20 mile radius. Homes along the NET tram corridor through Beeston and Clifton tend to be the quickest doors for us to collect and return within the usual 1-2 day turnaround, since that route is already part of our regular workshop run.

The job itself varies more by property type than postcode: in the Lace Market and Sneinton, where kitchens are often fitted into converted former lace warehouses and Victorian terraces with narrow stairwells, doors and drawer fronts get carried out and back one at a time rather than lifted out as a full run, which can add half an hour or so either side of a job that's straightforward on a modern city-centre apartment where doors are easier to access and load into the van.
Door Wrapping Questions We Get Asked
Will wrapped doors look as good as new ones?
Done properly, yes - the vinyl is heat and pressure applied in our workshop so it sits flush into routed grooves and around curved edges rather than looking like a sticker job. The main limit is the door itself: if the substrate underneath is chipped, swollen or uneven, that will show through the wrap, which is why we check doors before quoting rather than after.
Can any kitchen door be wrapped?
Most MDF, laminate and painted timber doors wrap well. Doors with water damage, swollen chipboard edges or splitting need replacing rather than wrapping - we'll flag this at the quote stage rather than wrap over a problem that will fail later.
How long does the job take?
Typically 1-2 days: doors come off on day one, get wrapped in our workshop, and go back on the next day. Larger kitchens or homes further out on our collection round can take a little longer, which we'll confirm when we quote.
Do I need to empty my cabinets?
No - only the doors and drawer fronts come off, not the cabinets themselves, so what's inside can stay where it is.
Can I change the colour completely, not just refresh the existing one?
Yes - wrapping can take a kitchen from, say, dated oak laminate to matte anthracite or a woodgrain finish. What it can't do is change the door's shape or style, since it's a new surface on the existing door, not a new door.
What's the guarantee?
10 years on the vinyl adhesion and 2 years on the workmanship, both starting from the day the doors go back on and you've signed off the finish.
How much does it cost compared to new doors or a full refit?
Wrapping runs £35-45 per door, against £80-150+ per door for new doors before fitting, or upwards of £5,000 for a full design, supply and install kitchen. Wrapping is worth pricing first if your doors are structurally sound and it's really the finish you're tired of.
Do you cover my area?
We collect and refit across Nottingham, West Bridgford, Wollaton, Beeston, Arnold and Sneinton, out to Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Stapleford, and into Derbyshire as far as Derby, Long Eaton, Alfreton and Heanor. If you're near the edge of that roughly 15-20 mile radius, get in touch and we'll confirm.
