What's Included in a Makeover Package - and What Isn't
Not Included / Costed Separately
- Full unit replacement or new carcasses - this is a repaint and refresh service, not a new kitchen fit, so your existing cabinet boxes, layout and plumbing stay exactly where they are.
- Rewiring, new sockets or lighting circuits, and any plastering or structural work - a makeover package doesn't touch any of this, so if your kitchen needs it, that falls outside the scope of the package.
- New worktops or flooring - packages are built around your existing surfaces. If a worktop or floor is worn or damaged, that's a separate conversation, not something a makeover addresses.
- New lighting installation and soft furnishing coordination are only included at Deluxe package level; on the Standard and Premium packages these would be an extra.
Makeover Package vs Full Replacement vs DIY: The Honest Comparison
| Makeover Package | Full Kitchen Replacement | DIY Cabinet Painting | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical cost | £2,800-£6,000 depending on package | £12,000-£20,000 | Cost of paint, brushes and hardware, plus your own weekends |
| Time on site | 2-3 days, sometimes 4 on larger jobs | Often several weeks | Several weekends, kitchen partly out of action between coats |
| Kitchen usable during the work | Yes - sink, appliances and worktops stay usable, and the site is cleaned up each evening | No - the kitchen is typically stripped back for the duration | Only partially - doors off, surfaces under dust sheets |
| Finish | Workshop-sprayed factory finish: degreased, primed and sprayed in two coats | New units to your chosen specification | Brush or roller marks are common even with careful prep |
| Structural work involved | None - existing layout and plumbing are kept as they are | Full strip-out, often with re-plumbing and rewiring | None, but no access to a spray booth or trade degreasing |
| Guarantee | 2 years on workmanship, plus paint manufacturer warranty | Varies by installer | None |
The Same Craftsmanship Team, Working With a Spray Gun Instead of a Saw
The team that sprays your units is the same team that would fit a full replacement kitchen, and that matters more than it sounds - a hairline gap where a cornice meets the wall, or a hinge that's sagged slightly out of true over the years, gets spotted and corrected before spraying starts rather than painted straight over. That eye for detail comes from 800+ kitchens fitted for local homeowners over more than 20 years, from Victorian terraces in the Lace Market to modern city-centre apartments, so awkward cabinet geometry isn't unfamiliar ground. Old handles, hinges and any hardware swapped out during a makeover are removed and disposed of under a registered waste carrier licence rather than left in a bag for you to deal with, and the business is a member of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Federation of Small Businesses. Because the person who quotes the job is the same person accountable for how it turns out, there's no third-party decorator to chase if a coat needs a touch-up.
How Far the Spray Unit Travels, and What Affects Access
The spray booth and dust-free extraction unit travel to your kitchen rather than the other way round, so coverage comes down to how far the van and equipment can travel and still get a 2-3 day job started and finished on schedule - in practice that's roughly a 15-20 mile radius from our regional workshop. Around Nottingham that takes in West Bridgford, Wollaton, Beeston, Arnold and Sneinton; further out we're regularly working in Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Stapleford, and across into Derbyshire in Derby, Long Eaton, Alfreton and Heanor, stretching toward Chesterfield on larger bookings. What actually changes from street to street is parking: the extraction hose needs to run from the unit to a door or window close to the kitchen, so a driveway or side access next to the kitchen wall means a quick set-up, while streets with on-street permit parking only usually need the site visit to work out where the van can sit for the day without trailing the hose across a pavement. If your street is tight on parking, flagging that when you book the visit means the assessment covers exactly where the van and hose run will go.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Do Kitchen Makeover Packages Take?
Most packages are completed in 2-3 days. We work systematically - doors removed day 1, spraying and wall painting day 2, reassembly and finishing day 3. Larger or more complex packages might take 4 days, but we'll give you exact timelines during consultation.
Can I Still Use My Kitchen During the Work?
Yes, your kitchen stays mostly functional. We remove doors but you can access inside cabinets. Sink, appliances, and worktops remain fully usable. We clean up properly each evening so you can prepare meals and use the space normally.
What If I Don't Like the Colours Once They're On?
We provide large samples to test before we start, and our colour consultation process minimizes this risk. However, if something doesn't look right, we'll work with you to make it right. Our 6-month touch-up service includes minor colour adjustments if needed.
Are Package Deals Really Cheaper Than Individual Services?
Yes, significantly. Buying services individually would cost £3,000-4,200 for what we include in our £2,800-3,500 packages. The savings come from efficiency - we're already on site, already have equipment set up, can coordinate timing perfectly.
How Long Will the Makeover Last?
Our spray painted cabinets last 8-12 years minimum. Wall painting lasts 6-8 years in kitchens. Hardware typically lasts decades. We provide written guarantees: 2 years on workmanship, paint manufacturer warranties on materials.
Do You Offer Finance for Kitchen Makeover Packages?
Yes, we've partnered with Dopple for flexible payment options. You can spread the cost over 6-60 months depending on package size. Credit subject to status, but most customers qualify for competitive rates.
Can You Work Around My Schedule?
We offer evening and weekend consultations for working families. Installation work is typically during weekdays, but we can discuss flexible scheduling. Our 2-3 day timeline means less disruption than weeks-long renovations.
