Not Included / Costed Separately

  • Removing and disposing of an old worktop is arranged separately for a stand-alone swap, though it's included as standard when quartz is fitted as part of a full kitchen refit
  • Moving or altering base units, sinks or hobs to fit a different slab shape is carpentry work, quoted as a separate item
  • Rare custom colours and metallic finishes can carry a longer lead time and higher cost than our standard colour range
  • Repairs to quartz worktops we didn't originally supply and fit aren't covered under our installation warranty

How We Template, Cut and Fit a Quartz Worktop

  1. Free home consultation and colour selection -- We visit to discuss colours, edge profiles and finishes, show you your options on CAD and interactive floor-planning software, and pin down the exact quartz colour code so what's ordered matches what you've seen.
  2. Written quotation and agreement -- You get a full written quotation naming your chosen slab colour, edge profile and finish, plus a transparent agreement before any work starts — no hidden extras.
  3. Laser templating -- Once your base units are in place, we take laser measurements on-site around cabinets, the sink and the hob so the slab is cut to an exact fit.
  4. Off-site cutting and finishing -- The quartz slab is cut to the template on a diamond blade, edges profiled and the surface polished or honed to your chosen finish.
  5. Delivery check and on-site fitting -- Before fitting, our stonemasons check the delivered slab against the agreed colour batch, then fit and joint the worktop on site, sealing the seams with colour-matched resin for a flush, near-invisible join.
  6. Sign-off and warranty -- We check the finished worktop with you, then provide formal sign-off and a written installation warranty.

What a Quartz Worktop Costs

Quartz worktop pricing depends on the colour and pattern you choose, the edge profile, the size and shape of your kitchen, and whether it's a stand-alone worktop swap or part of a full kitchen refit. Standard white, black and grey quartz colours sit at the more affordable end of the range, while rarer veined or custom colours and metallic finishes cost more and can take longer to source. As a guide, full kitchen projects with us start from around £5,000, and a quartz worktop is quoted within that overall budget rather than a fixed per-metre rate, since every kitchen layout is different. Flexible finance is available through our FCA-regulated finance partner, subject to status. For an accurate price, a free home visit lets us measure your kitchen, show you swatches and give you a full written quotation with no hidden extras, and there's no obligation to book after your visit.

Quartz Compared With Granite, Marble and Sintered Stone

Worktop material Maintenance Heat & scratch resistance Typical appearance
Quartz (engineered) Non-porous, wipe clean, no sealing needed Good scratch resistance; use a trivet under hot pans to avoid scorching Consistent colour and pattern, wide range including marble-look veining
Granite (natural stone) Needs occasional resealing to stay non-porous Very heat resistant and hard-wearing Unique natural veining and flecking, every slab different
Marble (natural stone) Needs regular sealing, marks more easily from acidic spills like lemon or wine Softer than quartz or granite, scratches and etches more easily Classic, elegant veining prized for period and traditional kitchens
Sintered stone (Dekton/Corian) Virtually no maintenance, highly non-porous Extremely heat, UV and scratch resistant Ultra-modern, seamless matte finishes

Why Nottingham Homeowners Choose Our Quartz Worktop Fitters

Quartz is manufactured to a colour batch, so getting a true match across worktop, upstand and splashback comes down to ordering from the same batch and having someone check the delivered slab against the sample before it's cut — that's a detail our own stonemasons catch because they handle every job themselves, rather than it being managed through a subcontractor. We show you the actual colour against your cabinet doors on CAD before anything is ordered, which matters more with quartz than with natural stone, since the pattern is consistent from piece to piece and needs to sit right with the rest of the kitchen rather than being picked slab-by-slab in a yard. Every worktop we fit carries a 5-year guarantee on labour and installation and a 2-year guarantee on products, on top of the written agreement you get before work starts and the formal sign-off once it's fitted. We've been designing and fitting kitchens across Nottingham and the wider East Midlands for over 20 years, with 800+ completed for local homeowners, and we're members of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Federation of Small Businesses.

Quartz Worktop Fitting Across Nottingham and the East Midlands

Quartz worktops are laser-templated on site, then cut and finished at our regional workshop before we come back to fit them, so distance from Nottingham mostly affects scheduling rather than how the job is done. That covers Greater Nottingham (West Bridgford, Wollaton, Beeston, Arnold, Sneinton), out into Nottinghamshire (Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Stapleford) and Derbyshire (Derby, Long Eaton, Alfreton, Heanor), with jobs as far out as Chesterfield and the Derbyshire border scheduled from the same workshop run. In the Lace Market's converted warehouse flats, a flat-coloured quartz slab reads well against exposed brick and matte-black hardware, and we plan the joints to run parallel with the cabinet line rather than break mid-run, so they're less noticeable in an open, industrial-style layout. Out towards Wollaton, where classic and contemporary extensions often sit side by side, we see a mix of traditional veined quartz in the older part of the house and solid modern colours in newer additions.

Quartz Worktop Questions From Nottingham Homeowners

How long does templating and fitting a quartz worktop take?

Once your base units are in place and level, we take laser measurements on-site so the slab is cut to the exact shape of your kitchen, including cut-outs for the sink and hob. The slab is then cut and finished off-site before we return to fit it. Turnaround is generally quick for standard colours, though rarer veined or custom finishes can take longer to source from the supplier, so it's worth checking lead times for your chosen colour at the quotation stage.

Can a quartz worktop be repaired if it chips or cracks?

Small chips and surface scratches can often be filled and polished back by a stonemason so they're barely noticeable. A deeper crack, usually caused by heavy impact or pressure across an unsupported edge such as a waterfall corner, typically means replacing that section rather than a repair, since quartz is a solid engineered slab rather than a laminate that can be patched. Using a trivet under hot pans and a chopping board for cutting keeps a quartz worktop looking good for longer.

Do you fit quartz worktops on their own, or only as part of a full kitchen?

Both. Quartz worktops are often fitted as part of a full kitchen project, but we also carry out stand-alone worktop swaps onto existing cabinets. The process is the same either way — templating, off-site cutting, then fitting — though for a swap onto existing units, they need to be level and in good condition, since a new worktop won't disguise a cabinet run that's already out of square.

Arrange Your Free Quartz Worktop Consultation

A free home visit gets you a full written quotation with no obligation to go ahead, plus a look at your chosen quartz colour and layout on our CAD design software before anything is cut. Popular colours and edge profiles can have longer lead times if left too close to your planned fitting date, so it's worth getting your worktop templated into your kitchen project early.
